Zoë, 30, has previously voiced Catwoman in 2017's The Lego Batman Movie, and also appeared in Warner's Fantastic Beasts films, set in the Harry Potter universe. Reeves' Planet of the Apes collaborator Dylan Clark will produce. Jonah Hill and Jeffrey Wright are reportely in talks to play the Riddler and Commissioner Gordon, respectively. While those aren't confirmed yet, we do however have confirmation on who's going to be playing another Batman villain/anti-hero - Catwoman.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the decision came down to actresses Ana de Armas ("Blade Runner 2049"), Ella Balinska ("Charlie's Angels"), Eiza Gonzalez ("Baby Driver") and Kravitz who tested with a screentest next to Pattinson.
Kravitz is coming off her second season of HBO's Big Little Lies, which aired its finale in July.
The film is being billed as a grounded take on the Dark Knight and will feature many of Batman villains. Michelle Pfeiffer took the mantle from Meriweather in 1992, bringing Catwoman to life for Tim Burton's film Batman Returns.
Kravitz, the daughter of Lenny Kravitz, has starred in Euphoria, X-Men: First Class, Mad Max: Fury Road and more. Nonetheless, Robert will begin shooting for The Batman, tentatively from November 2019.
Kravitz follows in the footsteps of the most recent Catwoman, Anne Hathaway, who played the part in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises. She also stars in the upcoming series High Fidelity. Pretty much the only other thing we do know for certain for now is that it's scheduled for release on 25 June 2021. Tell us what you think in the comment section below!
