An official announcement of Diablo IV might go some way towards sating fans who were unimpressed by the Diablo mobile game Blizzard revealed at Blizzcon a year ago. Blizzard will host the annual conference at the Anaheim Convention Center in California for two days from Friday, November 1.
The GameStar leak also suggests that Diablo 2 may be getting a remaster.
It looks like Metro may once again prove to be on the mark with his predictions. According to the website, page 27 of "The Art Of Diablo", a hardcover coffee table book set to be released next month, featured a full-page advertisement containing "over 500 artworks from Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III and Diablo IV".
A recent Kotaku report claimed Blizzard is planning to announce a new Diablo game at the event, after delaying earlier plans to unveil it at 2018's showcase.
It starts to look like the much-awaited Diablo 4 will be announced nearly confidently during BlizzCon 2019.
Now, it's entirely possible that Diablo 4 refers to Diablo Immortal, the star of BlizzCon 2018.
If rumors about Diablo 4 and Diablo 2 Remastered prove to be true, then they would help bring Blizzard back into the good graces of fans after suffering a series of public relations disasters recently. Path of Exile shows how well the darker tone works these days, and I wouldn't mind seeing Diablo 4 give us more options as far as class builds go.
The incident also caused gamers and even some Blizzard employees to protest the company's supposed unfair treatment of its fans in favor of protecting its own image, particularly in the Chinese market.
