'Witcher': Netflix Trailer Arrives With Premiere Date

Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) is headlining the series as Geralt of Rivia. Will you be checking out the adventures of Geralt and friends when they come galloping onto a small screen near you?

Freya Allan's Princess Cirilla is then seen for the first time, urged by her ailing mother to seek out Geralt because, if she finds him, then 'there is still hope'. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a risky secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Showrunner Lauren Hissrich has said the "very adult" show takes the franchise in a different direction to CD Projekt's game series, which helped popularise The Witcher. To date there have been three Witcher games, but only one has been released on multiple platforms and named Game of the Year: Witcher III: Wild Hunt. This new trailer debuted between panels at the Lucca Comics & Games 2019 convention.

Taking a darker tone, scenes show Geralt being pegged with rocks by the public and generally abhorred for his status as a Witcher. "Lesser. Greater. Middling. It's all the same".

As promised, although a little later in the day than I expected, the first full trailer for The Witcher series on Netflix has arrived. "The goal, for me, was to recreate the soul of the books, to recreate these characters I fell in love with while putting them in a new coherent structure, to build a story that makes sense", Schmidt told Premiere.
