Broadway actress Laurel Griggs dead at 13

The teen debuted in the Broadway production of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" with Johansson at age 6 before she joined the cast of "Once", where she has the longest run in the role of Ivanka, according to her IMDB page.

Laurel Griggs' Broadway family is "heartbroken" over the 13-year-old's tragic death. Her grandfather broke the news on Facebook. "My handsome and talented granddaughter, Laurel Griggs, has passed away suddenly from a massive asthma attack", he wrote. As per news reports, Laurel Griggs passed away on November 5 after suffering a fatal asthma attack at the age of 13. "Mount Sinai was valiant in trying to save her but now she's with the angels".

Later, actress Laurel Griggs also essayed a character named Polly in the play by Tennesee Williams called "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" on Broadway in the year 2013. She performed in the musical for 17 months between 2013 and 2015.

Other child actress Eliza Holland Madore, who also played Ivanka during performances of Once, posted a picture and a tribute to Laurel Griggs over the weekend, including a photo of the two girls in their youth.

"I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of one of my Ivanka sisters".

Griggs' noteworthy acting credits continued in 2016 when she appeared in the romantic comedy, Cafe Society, alongside Steve Carell, Blake Lively, and Kristen Stewart.

Madore went on. "I'm so incredibly grateful that I got to know you". The Broadway star's family also planned a service in her memory on Sunday in order to celebrate the live she had. "We will never forget this sweet, talented young soul", he said in part. "We send our condolences to her loved ones at this hard time".
