Pompeo Had Several Calls With Giuliani Before Yovanovitch's Abrupt Ouster, Docs Confirm

I say he isn't, but I have insurance, ' Giuliani said with a shrug. "You can assume that I talk with him early and often and have a very, very good relationship with him, and all these comments-which are totally insulting-I mean, I've seen things written like he's gonna throw me under the bus".

Giuliani is now dealing with his own investigation federal investigations following claims that he possibly engaged in illegal lobbying and campaign finance violations.

Austin Evers, executive director of American Oversight, said the documents reveal "a clear paper trail from Rudy Giuliani to the Oval Office to Secretary Pompeo to facilitate Giuliani's smear campaign against a U.S. ambassador".

Each of the calls lasted about four minutes, and they came before and after Giuliani passed Pompeo a packet of information from his freelance investigation into Joe Biden and his son Hunter's dealings in Ukraine.

The new information "reveals a clear paper trail from Rudy Giuliani to the Oval Office to Secretary Pompeo to facilitate Giuliani's smear campaign against a USA ambassador", the director of American Oversight, Austin Evers, said in a statement.

American Oversight, a self-described "non-partisan" watchdog organization dedicated to investigating President Donald Trump, obtained the documents on Friday night in its lawsuit against the department.

Last week, former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch told House impeachment investigators she felt "kneecapped" by a "smear campaign" Giuliani led against her.

The documents also supported testimony from USA diplomat David Hale, who told the House Intelligence Committee that Pompeo and Giuliani spoke on the phone twice in late March.

The emails seemed to back up Sondland's claims that many top officials were involved, at the "express direction" of the president, in his request for the Biden probe, as well as information about the hacking of the DNC server in 2016.

Also included in the documents was an April 5 letter penned by six former U.S. ambassadors to Ukraine - including impeachment witness Bill Taylor - expressing concern over "recent uncorroborated allegations" questioning Yovanovitch's work at the U.S. Embassy in Kiev.

Joseph A. Bondy, an attorney for Lev Parnas, the indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer, confirmed that his client was willing to testify before Congress that Nunes met with Shokin.

Biden supporters dismiss that claim as a conspiracy theory, saying that Biden put pressure on Ukraine to oust Shokin was because the prosecutor failed to tackle corruption.

Congressman Devin Nunes does more with his time than sue imaginary cows and make our democracy look bad in the impeachment inquiry hearings, but he also somehow found time to meet engage in his own backdoor meetings with Ukraine to get them to investigate Joe Biden in a meeting organized by now-indicted associates of Rudy Giuliani. Lutsenko is quoted raising questions about compensation that Hunter Biden received from the Ukrainian oil company Burisma.
