Taylor Swift to Drop Christmas Song Tonight, Video Tomorrow

"Christmas Tree Farm" takes a nostalgic look at Christmas past for T-Swift.

The video is filled with home videos from her childhood on the farm where we see her memories with her dad (Scott), mom (Andrea), and brother (Austin).

Taylor has previously covered Christmas songs in the past, including her festive 2007 EP The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection, but this is one of the first original festive songs in her collection.

Following his own suggestion to ask a kitten when you are in doubt, in the video, Taylor tells himself back to his three cats and it seems odd to wait a year for the song to go out so he doesn't know what to do, except for these lovely animals.

'When they shun you with silence, ambivalence, and judgmental brush offs... just put the song out anyway, ' she wrote in the caption alongside her selfie video.

Yes, the song is full of classic Christmas sounds and imagery, but this is Taylor Swift we're talking about-at its core, it's a love song.

However, Swift was too excited to share her new festive track with her fans.

Santa Taylor has delivered her Swifties an early present! It was a Christmas tree farm though, so that's why I'm sort of obsessed with Christmas.

On top of that, the pop star is now embroiled in a legal dispute with Scooter Braun and her former label Big Machine, involving the ownership of Swift's masters.

The cats were not much help to the singer, who ultimately decided that she didn't want to wait another year to release her new music. "Everybody's buying gifts for each other and there's sort of a feeling about it". And then later on through her social media.

Fans have been speculating that she was releasing a Christmas song for a while now.

This is not the first time, Swift has released Christmas music.

While no one can substantiate the "gingerbread house" or "gumdrop forest" setting, the Swift Christmas tree farm is a very real place.
